High Class LowBrow group show PDF Print E-mail

Hyaena Gallery Presents: "High Class LowBrow"

The Lowbrow Art movement arose from Los Angeles like a cartoonish middle finger aimed at the establishment art regime of the 1970's and 1980's. Sarcastic and witty, and possessing a wealth of imagination and talent, the originators of the movement carved a solid niche for themselves and fronted a rebellion against the art magazines, schools                       and museums that refused to acknowledge the relevance of their work.

Throughout the years as Lowbrow grew in popularity, countless imitators spawned a less threatening version of the style that was deemed more acceptable and this helped spread the movement. Underneath the surface, however, there still lies a foundation of angst and mischief that is just begging to be let loose.  So we are opening the demonic floodgates and aiming our sights on the original institution, the art museums. Sit back and let us take you on a journey through the classics, as seen from the gutter.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
